A simple dashboard of red and green lights for everything you run
Asked for in an Ask HN thread about tools small businesses lack · original source · more from Hacker News
A flat list of services, jobs and checks with just green or red status, not charts or analytics. Each check is a URL ping or a webhook; it's for small teams and solo operators. Self-hostable in a single file.

The weekend plan
A rough weekend-sized plan to help you start. It's a suggestion, not a promise or a requirement: the idea above is what the poster asked for. Change anything. About the steward
- Done for one weekend
- One self-hosted page lists your services and jobs, each green or red, based on URL checks and incoming webhooks.
- Suggested shape
- Small self-hosted web service in a single file
- In scope
- Define checks in one config file: a name plus either a URL to ping or a webhook key.
- URL checks: request each URL on an interval. Green on a success response, red on an error or timeout.
- Webhook checks: a job calls its URL when it runs, and the check turns red if it hasn't checked in within its expected window.
- One flat page with each check's name, green or red, and when it last changed. No charts.
- Ships as one file (for example a single binary or script) with no outside database.
- Optional, if there's time
- An alert by email or chat message when a check turns red.
